hello fellow comrades, welcome.

Another excellent Edublogs.org weblog

visual post ch 26-31

I used this picture because Boo Radley killed Bob Ewell.  This picture doesn’t nessisarily show how Boo Radley killid Bob Ewell, because he didnt kill him that way. But it still gives u an idea !

ch. 26-31 quote

Quote 20: “‘most people are, Scout, when you finally see them.’” Chapter 31, pg. 284

this means that there are good people out there who see things the way scout does, you just have to open your eyes and see for yourself who they are

music fo ch. 26-31

I chose the following songs for the following reasons:

1)  Beats to the rhyme: this song is kind of a party song or a type a song that has a cool beat and they would play it at party. This is to go with the pageant scene of the story.

2) Session: this song just has a nice again, relaxed beat to it, and would be perfect of the ending, since things are eventually going to be more relaxed.

3) Where’d you go: scout never sees boo again, so this song would be perfect for that part.

4) Fight the power: this song talks about how you have to say up for what is right. This is a major theme of the story.

5) My philosophy: basically talks about how you should respect people and not starting any trouble. Because what goes around, comes around.

6) Smile in your sleep: this song talks of how someone lied about something and he or she act like they were all innocent but they are not. This is what bob Ewell did.

7) Sound check: I put this song on hear because of the same reason as I wrote about session… I know the first part is funny, but when you get to the beats, this song is tight.

8)Renegades of funk: this song basically says we need rebels in this world, without them, nothing would change.

Intial Post [Jazmin] chapters 26-31

The last few chapters of the book were very… action packed with adventure I guess you can say. Scout and Jem go to a pageant as they get scared by one of Scout’s friends from class. They seem to have a great time. There was apple bobbing and other activities as if it were a festival. I thought it was cute how Scout was a ham. I can almost see it. Personality, I would love to be dressed up as some ham. Just because of the fact that I love ham a lot. Anyways back to the story.

The thing that saved Scout from being stabbed by the knife was her ham costume. I think the ham costume represents a fun, silly childhood. This shows one of the themes of the book, that innocents can be very strong and effective. And the ham costume was one of the things that proved that.

I though Bob Ewell dying was part of the karma that I talked about on the last post. If you are going to do something bad to someone, don’t be surprised when karma comes and smacks you across the face… or stabs your ribs. I know that Boo killed him, but it was to save the little kids. If Boo had not been there at the time that he was, the kids could have gotten killed or injured really badly. People like Bob Ewell are very crazy. I mean Ewell was blinded by rage against Atticus, but he’s going to take it out on the children? That has nothing to do with this? That’s just cold blooded.

Picture ch.21-25

This picture reminds me that children of all races can get along and do not see any problem, it is the adults who have grown up with the set thoughts that people with different ethnicities should not get along.

(This Picture also relates to the quote from chapers 21-25)

Quote ch. 21-25

“‘They’ve done it before and they did it tonight and they’ll do it again and when they do it — seems that only children weep.’” Chapter 22, pg. 215

Basically its saying that that some of the whites are racist to the Blacks. Because some of those white people will continue to be racist to the black people tonight, tomarrow, the next day, next week, next month, next year, and probably till there dead. And only the children know its wrong to do that. And someday it will be payback for them. Or known as Karma.

Intial post: 21-25 [Jamzin]

I thought that it was wrong of Aunt Alexandra to be judging people like she does. She talked to Scout so mean I wanted to throw the book across the room. It is not fair that just because of a family reputation, that people are labeled as such. Just because the Cumminghams are not the cleanest folks in the story, does not mean that they are not good people. Scout is honestly one of my favorite characters because of what I said before; we are alike in many ways. She is clueless of to why she can’t hang out with Walter. Shoot, and I would be too. Also, Scout has to start acting like a ‘lady’. How can you define a lady? Are you not a lady just because you don’t wear a dress? Are you not a lady just because you stand for what you believe in? In this book, they think of women fragile, and timid. But of course that is not true.
In the bible they say like women is a sin, or we are bad. So does that give people the right to underestimate us like we always jack stuff up? Of course it doesn’t. This book is timeless because there are other issues and lessons to be learnt outside of racism. Racism is not very strong today because people get along more, but lessons such as judging people and stereotypes still exist today. Along with other problems regarding violence and doing what is right. A quote states the following, “Stand up for what’s right, even if you stand alone.” Atticus did this by defending Tom Robinson in the case, and standing by him, no matter the risk.

Music Chapters 21-25!!!

initial post 17-20

If my Aunt was Aunt Alexandra that would be a disaster. Aunt Alexandra thinks she running something in the household. If she came and lived with my family that wouldnt happen because I wouldnt allow her to talk to me any kind of way. Also I feel bad for everyone who lived in the house with her or at least met her because she’s not that kind of a person at get along with. Also the Tom Robinson trail isnt over yet

initial post ch. 17-20

Aunt Alexandra reminds me of my aunt Kathy because she wants Scout to be something she is not just like my aunt.  Aunt Alexandra is focused on manners and being proper.  She wants Scout to be a proper young lady and that’s what my aunt wants me to be as well.  In a way Atticus also reminds me of my dad because unlike aunt Alexandra he doesnt really care what my brother and I do as long as it is not horrible.  I feel really bad for scout because I feel her pain, and I’m glad that my aunt is not coming to live with me, that would be terrible.

The Tom Robinson Trial is where the main focus of these chapters is though,  and im sure that everyone can agree that racisim runs this courtroom.  Tom Robinson should have won that case immeaditely.  Atticus used his great lawyer skills to prove that his client, Tom Robinson is innocent.
